The Regis House Community Center (RHCC) is a non-profit, non-denominational organization that offers a variety of educational, recreational and social programs at low or no cost, including; an after-school program, a pre-kinder program and a six week summer camp. The Sisters of Social Service of Los Angeles is one of three groups of the Roman Catholic Federation of the Sisters of Social Service. The Sisters opened the RHCC almost 60 years ago in West Los Angeles. However, as that neighborhood flourished, demand for the RHCC’s services diminished, so the Sisters made the decision to move the RHCC to the historic Filipino neighborhood near downtown Los Angeles.

In 2011, the Sisters opened a brand new facility that has the capacity to help at least 300 families in need. The resources at the new RHCC can provide an after-school program for a minimum of 30 children, a pre-k program for up to 20 children, and summer camp for 45-60 children. Yet the Sisters would like to expand some of these programs to provide the after-school program and summer camp for even more children, which is why Juniors aims to expand its outreach and fund-raising endeavors in the coming year.
Juniors serve Regis House in a myriad of ways: donating food for Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving baskets, preparing and serving meals at special holiday celebrations, donating summer supplies (towels, bathing suits and sunscreen) for summer camp, providing extra adult supervision on the weekly summer camp field trips, and donating gifts for the Christmas boutique. Juniors’ children are welcome and encouraged to join in the celebrations and accompany their mothers on the field trips. Supporting Regis House is a powerfully rewarding experience for the whole family.
Juniors of Social Service is a 501(c) 3 corporation. Tax ID: 95-4640613.
