Our 77th Annual Candlelight Ball!

 Dear Friend of Regis House,

We write to you today with great pleasure to announce our upcoming 77^th Annual Candlelight Ball to be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica, California. This year’s Ball, A Night to Shine, will shine a spotlight on the important work that Regis House does in the MacArthur Park area of downtown Los Angeles.  We sincerely hope you will become a Patron of this year’s Candlelight Ball. Every dollar donated through our patron levels directly funds the programs at Regis House. 

Regis House offers hope and support every day to MacArthur Park families in need: a vibrant After-School Program, a rigorous Pre-Kindergarten program and a bustling Summer Day Camp. More than 300 children and their families benefit yearly from these programs. Other Regis House outreach efforts include a monthly food bank, a Thanksgiving Dinner serving 150 families and a “Santa Store” where families can “shop” for holiday gifts from a large assortment of donated new and gently used gifts.  The common thread of these programs is dignity and hope, as Regis House provides a safe haven where entire families are supported with the resources and education to turn their lives around.

Regis House relies on our financial support to provide these outstanding programs. The Candlelight Ball is the primary fundraising event that provides the majority of the Regis House operating budget. These funds are carefully stretched to cover the year’s budget but with the current economic climate, it is challenging to raise sufficient funds to cover all the costs to run these community programs.

We hope you will consider becoming a Patron of this year’s ball. Every dollar you donate has a direct impact on the lives of our Regis House families. We welcome and appreciate any donation however large or small that you can make toward our Patron Drive. For example, a donation of $500 provides one child with the opportunity to attend the Regis House Summer Day Camp for five weeks. Please see the accompanying page with details for each Patron Category.  Donations received by October 30, 2012 will be recognized in both the Night to Shine Invitation and the Ball Program.
